<p>Our wonderful programming should convince you to stick around this Sunday. Rob Jonas and the Slate Hill Band on the market stage, the Puppet People for the kid in all of us, Aqueduct Rowing, Schenectady County Historical Society and Jenny and Abigail the balloon twisting pair, roaming the market. Come spend the morning but before you head home make sure to pick up some strawberries and cream so you can celebrate with strawberry shortcake. Our friends at From Scratch Club feature a <a title="from scratch club" href="http://fromscratchclub.com/2013/06/05/gluten-free-recipe-perfect-summer-biscuits/" target="_blank">gluten-free</a> recipe this week. Or for the traditionalists, a time-tested <a title="fine cooking" href="http://www.finecooking.com/recipes/classic-strawberry-shortcake.aspx" target="_blank">recipe</a> from Fine Cooking.</p>
<p><strong>Cooper’s Ark Farm:</strong> Fresh ducks, less fat and over 6 pounds, $6 per pound; fresh chicken, whole and parts; fresh cornish hens, $7.50 each; and as always, brown and green eggs from flax-fed, pastured chickens.</p>
<p><strong>Earthly Remedies by Erin:</strong> Lip balms, deodorant, bug spray, and tick Flick’r.</p>
<p><strong>Funk Farms:</strong> Apple and strawberry rhubarb pies made from fresh local produce and hand rolled crusts; cookie cups in our many delicious flavors; classic black and white cookies and refreshing lemonade cookies; flakey cinnamon pastry logs; giant cinnamon buns. Pick them up for Dad.</p>
<p><strong>Healing Path Massage:</strong> Jean Marie Sefcovic and John Horan will offer chair massage for $1 per minute. Bring them your sore muscles in your neck, shoulders, upper back and see what they can do for you.</p>
<p><strong>Hope Valley Farm:</strong> Certified naturally grown red and green leaf lettuce, red butterhead lettuce; garlic scapes, Chinese cabbage, Swiss Chard, beets, kale; bedding plants, 4 1/2 inch proven winners, herbs, deck planters and perennials—all on sale.</p>
<p><strong>Mariaville Farm: </strong>Fresh chicken and fresh eggs from free roaming chickens; pasture-raised Black Angus beef; pork including chops, tenderloin, roasts, sausages and nitrate free bacon.<strong><br />

<p><strong>Mariaville Mushroom Men:</strong> Log-grown gourmet shiitake mushrooms, oyster mushrooms and lion’s mane mushrooms.</p>
<p><strong>Maynard Farms:</strong> Strawberries; no-spray snap peas, snow peas; no-spray arugula, baby lettuce, mixed Asian greens; apples and cider.</p>

<p>Did you see them last week? The first strawberries of the season appeared and were gone in a flash. If the weather is dry enough we should see them again this Sunday! Fresh strawberries, tender leafy greens, savory steaks and mushrooms on the grill. Now this is living!</p>
<p><strong>3 Chicks and a P:</strong> This week’s flavor &#8211; cilantro lime hummus; also pineapple habanero salsa; and new strawberry salsa!</p>
<p><strong>Ali Herrmann:</strong> A new series of encaustic painting; lots of shimmery, dangly earrings; and more artistically inspired domino wearables.</p>
<p><strong>Bella Terra Farm:</strong> Time to grill &#8211; Ground beef $5.00 lb.; center cut bone-in pork chops $4.00 lb.; hot or sweet Italian pork sausage $5.00 lb.</p>
<p><strong>Buhrmaster Farms:</strong> Strawberries (weather permitting); asparagus; hanging baskets; and flower garden pots.</p>
<p><strong>Mariaville Farm:</strong> Fresh never frozen Black Angus beef; duck, chicken, fresh eggs; pasture-raised pork, three types of fresh sausage, smoked ham steaks, pork chops, spare ribs and roasts, nitrate free bacon.</p>

Tender ramps will be making an appearance along with salad turnips, greens galore, green garlic, glorious carrots and who knows what other treasures! Come to the market and meet our new vendors.</p>

<p><strong>Barber’s Family Farm: </strong>Lots of plants for your garden &#8211; vegetable plants, herbs, flowers, hanging baskets and more; bales of rye straw, great for mulching. From the high tunnels &#8211; lettuce, spinach, Swiss Chard, spring garlic and scallions; frozen veggies &#8211; corn, broccoli, peppers, butternut squash and tomato puree.</p>
